Former Pakistan bowler explains why Babar Azam and Joe Root would not have difficulties for as long as Virat Kohli is captain

Former Pakistan spinner Aaqib Javed claimed that Virat Kohli had a “soft zone” outside the off-stump where he becomes entangled in deliveries.

Virat Kohli’s batting slump has recently become a hot subject of conversation. The legendary Indian batsman hasn’t made a century since November 2019, and he’s struggled to create impactful innings in recent months. Former Pakistan spinner Aaqib Javed has discussed what distinguishes Kohli from the likes of Babar Azam, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson. According to Javed, “great musicians” fall into two categories: those who are technically sound and those who are hindered by a certain shortcoming.

“There are two types of great players. One is that if they have a soft place and get tangled up in it, their hard patch will hold up. Others, including Babar Azam, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root, are technically sound players whose tough patches cannot be sustained indefinitely. It is difficult to pinpoint their shortcomings.” Javed on PakTV.tv says

“Kohli is occasionally caught off guard by deliveries outside off stump. James Anderson has repeatedly chastised him.” He then made another comment against the former India captain.

“I was watching the game and saw that every time he attempts to change anything, he is attempting to play away from his body on purpose. If you change your technique or flow, you will encounter obstacles. He will return if he plays consecutive lengthy innings.” He expanded.

On a lighter note, the former bowler made a funny remark about one thing India and Pakistan have in common.

“Consider Kohli: if he is not confident and India loses versus Pakistan, they would be in the same situation as we are. If he does not score runs, the question of ‘why did you play him?’ will be addressed.”

“Then there’s the matter of why they didn’t cast an in-form Deepak Hooda. However, because you are playing in the subcontinent, you may be able to restore your form on UAE pitches “He claimed.

On August 28, India and Pakistan will meet in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
