ENG vs AUS: The England cricket team has made a massive change to their squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. Pacer Gus Atkinson, who has impressed one and all with his amazing performances, has been rested for the upcoming five-match Test series between the teams that will begin on 19th September.

Gus Atkinson was a part of the 3-match Test series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, which England won by the margin of 2-1. The pacer has been consistently playing Test cricket for the team this summer.
He made his debut for England in Tests against the West Indies National Cricket team and ever since then he has been playing continuously for the team. He has earned praise from all the corners for his magnificent performances as he picked a plethora of wickets for the team.
Not just this, Atkinson has also been incredible with the bat, having slammed a century. Gus Atkinson has played an instrumental role in England’s success in the Test series against West Indies and Sri Lanka. Atkinson was also added to the England ODI squad for the series against the Australians and it was expected that he would play.

However, ahead of the series, the England and Wales Cricket Board has released an official statement, stating that Gus Atkinson will be rested from the five-match ODI series against the Australian cricket team. The official statement from ECB read: “Surrey and England seamer Gus Atkinson will be rested for the upcoming Metro Bank Men’s ODI series against Australia.”
England have withdrawn Gus Atkinson from their squad for the ODIs against Australia, effectively ending his summer. Officially he's rested but he's had a quad injury at the Oval. Olly Stone added to the squad.

According to the latest reports, it is learned that Gus Atkinson has been nursing a quad injury which he faced in the last Test match against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The reports also claimed that although the England cricket team has rested him officially but the fast bowler hasn’t been deemed fit to play in the series.
