Duleep Trophy 2023: Format, Venue, Squads, Schedule And Streaming Details

Here is a look at the squads, tournament format, schedule, and live streaming information.

The Duleep Trophy will kick off India’s domestic season in 2023/24. The competition will begin on June 28 with contestants from the East Zone, West Zone, North Zone, South Zone, Central Zone, and North-East Zone. The final will be place on July 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After a three-season hiatus, the Duleep Trophy was resurrected last year, with the West Zone emerging champion after defeating the South Zone in the final in Coimbatore.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the leading run-scorer (497) in the previous edition, while Tamil Nadu spinner R Sai Kishore led the bowling statistics with 17 wickets. Jaydev Unadkat, captain of Saurashtra, was named Player of the Series.

Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad were initially picked to the West Zone squad but were later called up for India’s tour of the West Indies.

Cheteswar Pujara, Suryakumar Yadav, and Prithvi Shaw have been named to the West Zone squad, while Hanuma Vihari, Mayank Agarwal, and Washington Sundar have been named to the South Zone squad.

Date and Venue

The Duleep Trophy 2023 begins on June 28, with all matches taking place in Bengaluru. From July 12 to 16, the final will be place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.


Format

The Duleep Trophy will continue to be held in a zonal format, with the competition beginning with a quarterfinal bracket.

South Zone and West Zone, last year’s finalists, will advance directly to the tournament’s semi-finals. In the first quarter-final, the Central Zone will face the East Zone in Alur, while the North Zone will face the North-East Zone in the second quarter-final in Bengaluru. Alur will also host the tournament’s first semi-final.

Except for the final, all matches will be played over four days.

Duleep Trophy 2023 is not currently being telecast live or live-streamed in India.
