
In this season, many domestic heroes of IPL 2025 have portrayed their rich caliber of skills among the big international stars. In the first round of IPL 2025, there were many instances where the international stars failed to perform in the need of hour but domestic heroes stepped in to take the responsibility.

Vignesh Puthur

The leggie (leg-spinner) of Mumbai Indians bought at Rs 30 lakh debuted in the biggest IPL clash of giants MI vs CSK and took three wickets while defending a mere target of 156 runs. He was a medium pacer earlier but after the advice of his Shariff, he shifted to leg-spin and shone brightly in the Kerala Premiere League and Tamil Nadu Premiere League.
Khaleel Ahmed

The left-arm medium pacer who has been a part of the Indian squad and domestic cricketer for a long time, gave an outstanding performance in the opener match of his team CSK. He dismissed the hitman Rohit Sharma in his first over at duck on the short mid-wicket. Ended the innings after taking 3 wickets with an economy of 7.25.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi– The right-handed batsman of KKR who was the highest scorer of U-19 World Cup 2022 played a cameo of 30 runs in 22 balls when the middle order of KKR collapsed early after the departure of their skipper Ajinkya Rahane. He was bought at a base price of Rs 20 lakh by the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Tushar Deshpande– The right-arm medium pacer of RR who played decently well among the other bowlers of his team while bowling against the mighty lineup of SRH. He managed to pick 3 wickets for the big man Travis Head, Aniket Verma, and Abhinav Manohar. He played under Ms Dhoni’s guidance in CSK for a long time and now he is transferred to a new franchise RR ready to perform well.
Shubham Dubey– The left-handed batsman of RR who was bought at Rs 5.8 crore played a magnificent knock of 34 runs of 11 deliveries against the great international bowlers MD Shami, Marco Jansen, and Pat Cummins. He had a great season in SMAT 2023-24 and played significant knocks for Vidarbha where he ended up getting the 2nd highest scorer till the quarterfinals.
Ashutosh Sharma– The batting all-rounder of Delhi Capitals who played under the guidance of Shikar Dhawan in the PBKS earlier, played the heroic innings of his career and IPL history where he chased 210 runs against LSG in the last over. The winning chance of DC was 14% till the 15th over and Ashutosh was playing at 20 runs of 20 balls, from then he scored 46 runs in 11 balls which pulled DC back into the game and he finished the match in style with a maximum. He was bought at Rs 3.80 Crore by Delhi Capitals this season.
Vipraj Nigam– Another all-rounder of Delhi Capitals bought at a base price of Rs 50 lakh, was quite expensive with the ball and took 1 wicket in 2 overs. However, while batting he played a significant knock of 39 runs in just 15 balls which led DC to victory as well.
Digvesh Singh Rathi– The right-arm leg-break bowler who managed to pick two crucial wickets in the DC vs LSG match with an economy of 7.75. Among the other bowlers in that match, he was an effective bowler for the team, unfortunately, LSG lost the match. He was bought by LSG at a base price of Rs 30 lakh.
Priyansh Arya– The left-handed batsman of PBKS who played fearless innings while opening for the Punjab Kings, with a striker rate of 204.34 he played a knock of 47 runs in 23 balls hitting 2 maximums and 7 fours. He was bought at Rs 3.80 crore in a bidding war by PBKS.
Sai Kishore– The slow left-arm orthodox bowler of GT who alone controlled the game in the initial overs where he gave only 3 runs in his 1st two overs against DC but became prey to later fireworks of Vipraj and Ashutosh. He took 3 wickets in that match and was bought via RTM card at a worth of Rs 2 crore.
