MS Dhoni has bowled to Indian batsmen in the nets on numerous occasions. The former Indian captain has not only practised his bowling talents in the nets, but also on the field. In fact, he also has one wicket to his name in international cricket.

Dhoni’s first wicket came during the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy, when he removed former West Indies batsman Travis Dowlin. Dhoni had also dismissed Kevin Pietersen during India’s tour of England in 2011, but the former England captain used DRS to overturn the decision. Dhoni did the same feat during the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, trapping Mahela Jayawardene in front of the stumps. Again, DRS came to the batsman’s aid, and the decision was reversed.

MS Dhoni has taken three wickets in his career. One was at the international level, while the other two were in List A format. In the 87 first-class deliveries he bowled, he never got a wicket. He retired from Test cricket in 2014 and has decided not to play first-class cricket anymore.

MS Dhoni rose to prominence as a player in international cricket, becoming noted for his work ethic on the pitch and decision-making abilities. He was also credited with instilling a fitness culture in Indian cricket, which helped the squad become one of the greatest fielding sides in the world during his tenure. Simultaneously, Dhoni’s gutsy strategy of taking the game to the final over while chasing huge totals helped the Indian team gain several memorable triumphs.
