Dhaka Dominators Team Profile, Squad and Analysis: Bangladesh Premier League

The Dhaka Dominators are a Twenty20 franchise team that represents Dhaka. They play in the Bangladesh Premier League. When the team was first put together in 2012 for the first season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), they were called the Dhaka Gladiators. They went on to win the BPL in both 2012 and 2013. The Gladiators were one of the teams that broke up in 2013 after the second edition was over.

Then, BEXIMCO Group bought the team and changed its name to the Dhaka Dynamites. The team has always had to deal with problems on the way to victory. At first, the Dominators needed help finding their feet in the competitive BPL. So, in each of their first two seasons, they were in the bottom half of the standings. In contrast, the team’s fortunes changed dramatically in 2017. They came in second place in the Bangladesh Premier League, which made them one of the best teams in the league (BPL).

Since then, the Dhaka Dominators have shown that they can consistently play at a high level by making it to the playoffs every season and reaching the championship game three times. In 2019, they were the first team in the club’s history to win the British Premier League championship. This was the most important thing they had ever done.

Now that the team’s records are official, we can see they’ve won the championship in the last three years, in 2012, 2013, and 2016. During the 2022 season, they were in a league. The team’s performance in the tournament got them into the playoffs in 2015 and 2019–20.

Achievements:

• The Dhaka Dominators are the only team to have played in and won three BPL finals. The competition went well for them in 2012, 2013, and 2017. At the end of both the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Dhaka played in the finals.
• In their match against Khulna Tigers in the 2020 BPL season, Dhaka Dominators got their third-highest score of the year. Dhaka’s first-innings score was a massive 205/4. But they were not able to successfully defend the championship.
• Even though they are called the Dominators, they do not only use players from their own country. Some well-known international stars they have are Shakib Al Hasan, Chris Gayle, and Andre Russell. Because of their many skills and years of experience, these people have been important to the Dominators’ success.
