Having a great IPL 2025 season with Delhi Capitals, Ashutosh Sharma has now created headlines in England by recording a brilliant century in his first club cricket game. The erstwhile Delhi Capitals batsman represented Wigan Cricket Club in the 2025 Liverpool and District Cricket Competition and did not take much time in displaying his aggressive batting approach.

Arriving in England on a Saturday morning, Ashutosh Sharma emerged onto the field later that night and gave an unforgettable Wigan Cricket Club debut. Playing against Formby Cricket Club, the flashy right-hander clubbed a century in 70 balls before going on to score 100 off 73.

Batting at position 5, Ashutosh walked in with the team reeling at 17/3. He changed the complexion of the game with a stunning 153-run association with opener Aveen Dalugod. His knock comprised 8 fours and 6 sixes with a strike rate of 136.99.

Though he tried his best, Ashutosh got out as soon as he scored his century in the 34th over. After his wicket, the collapse of the team continued as it went from 170/3 to 195/7.

Transition from Delhi Capitals player in IPL 2025 to Club Cricket in England

Delhi Capitals recruited Ashutosh Sharma from IPL 2025, who had played earlier for Punjab Kings. Although the Delhi side failed to reach the playoffs, Ashutosh delivered with his finishing ability, scoring 204 runs at a strike rate of 160.62 and an average of 29.14.
