The former captain, who has represented South Africa in 84 Tests and eight ODIs over a 12-year career, will bid adieu to international cricket after the two Test matches against India. The first Test is scheduled to be played at SuperSport Park in Centurion from December 26 to 30, and the second will take place at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town from January 3 to 7.

Elgar, aged 36, expressed his gratitude and reflected on his remarkable journey in international cricket, stating, “Playing the game of cricket has always been a dream of mine, but having the opportunity to represent your country is the ultimate!
