DCW vs RCBW: RCB registered an emphatic 8-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) in their second successive triumph in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. In this one-sided match, RCB chased a modest total of 142 runs posted by Delhi with ease and won the match in 16.2 overs.
The victory was founded on solid work by RCB bowlers, who held Delhi at a score of 141, and a fiery knock by skipper Smriti Mandhana, who hit 81, the highest individual score.
Delhi Capitals’ Batting Collapse

Batting first after losing the toss, Delhi Capitals were in early trouble. Shafali Verma, who had been playing well, got out without opening her account in the second ball of the game. She provided an easy catch to RCB captain Smriti Mandhana at mid-off off Renuka Singh’s bowling, leaving Delhi on the back foot straight away. The early loss established the tone for what would prove to be a tough innings for the Delhi team.
Meg Lanning and Jemima Rodrigues attempted to steady the innings, but RCB’s bowlers were relentless in their pressure. Lanning (17) was able to score a couple of boundaries but was caught by Alice Parry off Kim Garth, leaving Delhi at 62/3. Jemima Rodrigues, on the other hand, looked promising, hitting the first six of the innings off Ekta Bisht’s bowling and scoring a few more boundaries to her name.
She later became Georgia Wareham’s victim, bowled out for 34 runs by wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh.
Delhi had lost five wickets by the 12th over, with 87 runs marked on the board. Annabel Sutherland (19) made an attempt to resist, scoring a six off Ekta Bisht, but was caught by Smriti Mandhana off the bowling of Renuka in the following over.
Jess Jonassen, who contributed only 1 run, was also dismissed by Ekta Bisht, caught by Kanika Ahuja at midwicket. At this point, Delhi’s innings were in disarray, and they were well on their way to a collapse.
RCB’s Dominant Bowling Display

RCB’s bowling team was responsible for their win. The fast bowler Renuka Singh and leg-spinner Georgia Wareham were the stars, both claiming three wickets each to destroy the batting lineup of Delhi. Renuka’s 3 wickets for 23 runs and Georgia’s 3 for 25 plays were key in keeping the Delhi team in check the entire length of the innings.
The damage continued as Ekta Bisht and Kim Garth chipped in with two wickets each. Ekta took 2 wickets for 35 runs, while Garth finished with 2 wickets for 19 runs. The bowling attack was so effective that Delhi never looked like getting close to a competitive total.
As Delhi’s innings fell apart, Marizanne Kapp (12) was dismissed by Ekta Bisht, becoming the sixth wicket to fall. Sarah Bryce, who scored the most after Jemima Rodrigues, scored 23 runs, scoring a couple of boundaries before being caught behind by Richa Ghosh off Georgia’s bowling. Georgia took another wicket in the same over, catching Radha Yadav (0) off her own bowling, leaving Delhi struggling at 111/8.
Renuka Singh finished off the innings by getting Shikha Pandey (14) out in the 19th over, and Garth got Arundhati Reddy (4) caught by Alice Parry to take Delhi all out for 141 runs in 19.4 overs.
Smriti Mandhana’s Stellar Knock Leads RCB to Victory

Pursuing a modest target of 142, Smriti Mandhana anchored RCB’s chase with an 81-run match-winning innings. Mandhana’s destructive batting placed RCB firmly in command of the chase, as she played with tremendous ease and assurance. With her, Ellyse Perry (who stayed not out on 25) gave solid support, keeping the target within reach.
RCB easily achieved the target in the second ball of the 17th over, winning by 8 wickets. Mandhana’s masterful innings featured some boundaries and sixes, displaying her batting skill. Her innings were a classic example of how to chase down a small target effectively, and she played a key role in RCB’s comprehensive victory.
