“It feels nice to win; first victories are vital.” There were a lot of positives today, and we’d like to keep this going. Harmanpreet Kaur told the press, “It’s vital to compete as a unit; we had a terrific start today and won swiftly.”

India opener Shafali Verma, who contributed 16 runs to the win, said the crowd’s applause motivated them to perform better.

“There was a large audience shouting for us, which gave us a boost and helped us win.” I’ve always liked bowling and batting. The upcoming match is critical, and we will give it our all to win,” Shafali Verma told the press.

When it comes to the game, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma opened the innings for India, who were chasing 100 runs.

Pakistan’s bowlers have no solutions for this boundary-hunting combination. They reached their 50-run mark in only 29 balls.

Pakistan got the breakthrough they needed when spinner Tuba Hassan dismissed Verma for 16 off 9 balls after she was caught by Muneeba Ali while hitting a late cut.

Sabbhineni Meghana was the next batter to take the batter’s stand. Mandhana was having a good day. She hit the ball beautifully and reached fifty in only 31 balls.

Meghana and Mandhana continued going till the former was bowled for 14 off six balls by Omaima Sohail.

Jemimah Rodrigues was up next on the ice. India won the match by scoring 102/2 in 11.4 overs, thanks to Mandhana (63*) and Rodrigues (2*). For Pakistan, Sohail and Hassan both grabbed a wicket.

Earlier, Sneh Rana’s blistering spell and the Indian team’s tight bowling effort enabled them bundle out Pakistan for 99 in the 18 overs of the rain-affected encounter at the current Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham on Sunday.

Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav each took two wickets for India. Muneeba Ali (32) was the top scorer for Pakistan. Pakistan’s women’s squad got off to a poor start when they lost opener Iram Javed, who was removed by Meghna Singh after reaching 0 runs.

Captain Bismah Maroof then batted and began smashing Indian bowlers all over the pitch, but her innings was cut short by Sneh Rana, who scored just 17 runs in 19 runs.

Rana, who was in blistering form, dealt another blow to Pakistan’s squad by dismissing opener Muneeba Ali. Pakistan hitters attempted to open their hands and play aggressive strokes in the first ten overs of the game. Women in Blue confine Pakistan batters in every manner and limit their ability to play huge strokes.

Omaima Sohail and Aliya Riaz hit several clutch shots to keep their team’s momentum continuing. Women in Green lost another wicket in the 15th over of the innings when Omaima Sohail was sent back to the pavilion after scoring 10 runs in 13 balls.

Sohail’s dismissal sent Fatima Sana to the crease. Aliya Riaz hit several offensive strokes and hammered two fours in Deepti Sharma’s over. Riaz was eventually run out by Meghna Singh after hitting 18 runs in 22 deliveries.

Pakistani batsmen could only muster 99 runs in the last over. Women in Blue put up an all-around display, dismissing Pakistan for 99 runs in 18 overs in the rain-shortened encounter.
