Cricket Kenya To Soon Launch T20 League

Joining in the T20 bandwagon is Cricket Kenya which is launching the Kenya Blaster League (KBL), the country’s major T20 league.

The growing popularity of T20 cricket leagues around the world is unprecedented. The highly successful cricket format has enchanted both the players and fans alike. The electric atmosphere and the enormous entertainment quotient have attracted not just thousands of spectators in the stadiums but also ensured a boisterous viewership records. 

Joining in the T20 bandwagon is Cricket Kenya which is launching the Kenya Blaster League (KBL), the country’s major T20 league. It aims to bring together not just top cricketers from across the globe but also scout local talents and provide them a platform to hone their skills. 

Stepping Stone For Cricket Kenya

The Kenyan Cricket Board has tied up with SA Event Worx, a dynamic sports management company to bring the KBL into a reality. 

Hemant Keshav Sharma, Founder of SA Event Worx said, “We are honoured to join hands with Cricket Kenya to bring the Kenya Blaster League to life. We’re creating something special here, a platform where local and international players can compete at the highest level. It’s not just about the game; it’s about putting Kenyan cricket on the global map.”

Kenya will be the second country in the continent of Africa after South Africa to host its own major T20 cricket league. The nation has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1981 and have featured in five World Cups since then. 

Manoj Patel, Chairman of Cricket Kenya, “We are not just hosting the KBL but working towards attracting thousands of fans to the cricket grounds and via live broadcasts with the potential to reach millions of fans globally. With Kenya being a renowned sporting nation, we hope to also go the extra mile in featuring community outreach programs, youth development initiatives and fan engagement activities to ensure KBL becomes an everyday feature within the communities with a lasting impact.”

With the launch of KBL, the cricketing spotlight is set to turn to Kenya. It aims to cash in on the rich cricketing history of the nation and resonate with cricket lovers from around the world.
