In the 2013 IPL season, Cameron White took charge as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s captain after Kumar Sangakkara had to step down. Even though the batting White was not exceptional as he scored 209 runs at 17.41, his leadership was useful for guiding his teammates. His smart strategies, especially in using fast bowlers like Dale Steyn and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, worked.
3. Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan became the captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2014 when SRH was not doing well on the field. Daren Sammy was one of the best captains of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Even though his stats as a player might not well but his leadership has led many. He joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2012. He made smart bowling changes and used part-time bowlers for the matches. His medium-pace bowling worked in tough conditions. Even though SRH did not win the IPL under his captaincy he made his team reach the final in 2018. His leadership helped discover talents like Mustafizur Rahman and Rashid Khan, and even stars like David Warner and Kane Williamson.

David Warner became the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015 and led SRH to their first championship in 2016 where he also won the Orange Cap as the top run-scorer. In 2017 they did not go as far in the playoffs. However, in 2018 due to the ball-tampering scandal, David Warner could not play in the IPL, and he had to give up the captaincy. When Warner returned in 2019 he was not the captain, but he was a good player. In 2020, he became the captain of SRH again but in 2021, some early losses and a dip in his form led to him being removed as captain during the season.

Kane Williamson’s time as captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL had both good and tough moments. In 2018, he took over from David Warner and led the team to the final while being the top run-scorer (with 735 runs). However, in 2021 when he took over mid-season but did not improve the condition of the match. In 2022, despite being retained as captain the team did not do well and finished 8th. During these seasons, his batting performance dropped.
7. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the captain of SRH in 2019. He is known for being calm and composed as a captain. Bhuvneshwar mainly captained SRH when their main skipper Aiden Markram was unavailable. In these limited chances, he had some wins but also faced many losses.
8. Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey became the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL in 2021. He led the team in one match because Kane Williamson was injured. However, SRH did not win that match against Mumbai Indians, and Pandey did not get a chance to bat. Since the team was chasing a low score, there is not much to analyze about his captaincy decisions.
9. Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram has become the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2023 season. He is a great batsman from South Africa, and his leadership skills could take SRH to new levels.
