Bowlers With Most 3-Wicket Hauls While Leading A Team In IPL: Captains in the IPL are usually known to be batsmen, nevertheless, a couple of bowlers have developed an identity of their own as captains.

Shane Warne – 3-Wicket Haul (5 Times)

The presence of Shane Warne was essential for the Rajasthan Royals between 2008 and 2011. Not only because of his excellent captaincy skills but also because of his brilliant bowling skills, he took the team through many successful innings.

In total, during the 55 innings in the IPL that he participated in, Warne took 57 wickets, with an average of 25.39 and an economy rate of 7.27. During this period, Warne was able to record a 3-wicket haul five times. The team, under the captaincy of Warne, won the first ever title of RR in 2008, the first year of IPL.

It would be right to say that Pat Cummins has performed wonderfully as a captain in the IPL. Under his leadership, Pat Cummins has been able to capture 42 wickets in a span of 36 games. His average runs per wicket is 28.83 and his economy rate stands at 8.99. Apart from being a successful captain, Cummins also managed to take 5 3-wicket hauls during his tenure as a captain.

Cummins made his debut in IPL in the year 2014 and has been impressing with his fast bowler role every time he has taken part in the competition. Cummins has managed to take 87 wickets in a total of 78 innings that he has played in 78 IPL matches till date with an average of 29.37 and an economy rate of 8.73.

Moreover, Yuvraj Singh made some noteworthy contributions to the bowling side as a skipper for IPL. As the skipper of his team, Yuvraj Singh managed to claim as many as 18 wickets in 18 innings with an economy rate of 23.16 and achieved a “three-wicket haul” three times.

Hardik Pandya and Anil Kumble also managed to claim a three-wicket haul three times during their careers as captains of the teams. The bowling of Anil Kumble, as captain, has been phenomenal as he secured 30 wickets at a remarkable economy rate of 6.31 as the skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.

Conversely, Hardik Pandya, who serves as a captain, has managed to earn 40 wickets with an economy rate of 35.62.
