“Bhuvi With the New Ball, Arsh with the Old Ball”: Aakash Chopra Predicted the Bowling Equations of Indian Team for T20 World Cup 2022

The former Indian opener Aakash Chopra predicted the pace bowling unit of the Indian team will probably appear in the T20 World Cup 2022.

The flamboyant commentator and former cricketer Akash Chopra predicted that the probable fast paced bowling department will perform in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. As per Aakash Chopra, the Indian team is currently relying more on the likes of Jaspit Bumrah and Harshal Patel. This highly raises the question if they would be able to make a strong come back with the submersible form in the tournament. This might not happen as it is tough to regain form, after making a comeback in today’s highly competitive international cricket.

Aakash Chopra used to keep a naked eye on the cricketing activities of the World Cricket, especially the actions and new developments around the Indian Cricket ambit. Along with him, many cricket experts predicted that one of the bowlers from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh have to sit on the bench in the upcoming World T20 and this equation may actually come true. But Chopra designed a different bowling unit for Indian team in his recent analysis.

In his YouTube video Aakash Chopra said, “Arshdeep Singh hasn’t done anything special with the new ball till now. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has disappointed a little with the old ball. So, you have very simple options – Bhuvi with the new ball, Arsh with the old ball. You are expecting that Arshdeep Singh can be your gun death bowler. In my opinion, he is still not one. You have just one gun death bowler – that’s Jasprit Bumrah. You have one new-ball bowler – that’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar. You are taking a slight chance with the other two”.

Later he added, “You have invested a lot in the faith that Bumrah will be back to prime fitness, not only fitness but also form and the same is true for Harshal Patel. I have a small reservation about Harshal – the sample size of match-winning performances is not there in international cricket”.
