BCCI Announces ₹51 Crore Cash Prize for the Champions
After this historic win, the Board of Control for Cricket in India revealed that it would hand the players, support staff, and selection committee a cash prize of ₹51 crore. This is in addition to the approximately ₹40 crore, USD 4.48 million, it will receive as a formal prize from the ICC.

A Historic Milestone for Indian Women’s Cricket
This victory at the World Cup is a first senior women’s world title for India, after winning the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023. They had been runners-up in 2005 and 2017 but finally realized their long-cherished dream. En route to the final, India edged out powerhouse Australia in the semi-final at Navi Mumbai, while South Africa beat England in the other last-four clash at Guwahati.
