The current Australian limited overs captain Aaron Finch is likely to announce his retirement from one day international cricket tomorrow as per the internal sources of cricket Australia. A few months back Aaron Finch led the Australian T20 side successfully in the T20 World Cup 2021, which will be considered as the biggest achievement of his limited overs captaincy also with this T20 and ODI series wins on Indian soil would be also a great stuff for him, as not many teams get succeed in defeating Indian team on its home grounds.
But many experts of the global cricket fraternity are unhappy with this decision of Aaron Finch as he should extend the decision till the ICC 50-over world cup of 2023, which will be a cruise for the Australian side and it is also going to happen within a year. This thing also looks right as it will be slightly difficult to get back a new captain and run the team successfully as the previous skipper used to be.
After the retirement of Aaron Finch from one day cricket David Warner or Glenn Maxwell will probably lead the side as Steve Smith would be the perfect candidate but after the ball tampering event of 2018 Australian Cricket board permanently swap ban on him for leading Australian team in any format of the game. So it will be interesting to see which new face will come after the farewell of Aaron finch.
