An ODI competition known as the Asia Cup is held among Asian countries. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is in charge of organising the competition. On August 31st, the continental competition will be held once more. The ODI World Cup is set to begin soon after the Asia Cup, giving it a lot of significance. Sanath Jayasuriya: 1220 runs

A legendary player in Sri Lankan cricket is Sanath Jayasuriya. It’s interesting to note that he began his career as a bowler who could also bat. He played a variety of middle-order positions before establishing himself as the brisk opener we are all familiar with. In the Asia Cup, the Sri Lankan all-rounder amassed 1,220 runs. He contributed to a Sri Lankan team that was incredibly dominant and scored runs at the top of the order really quickly. Even in the Asia Cup, he holds the record for the most centuries. He recorded six centuries along with three half-centuries.


Kumar Sangakkara: 1075 runs

The person with the most runs scored in the Asia Cup is another Sri Lankan. With a strike rate of 84.51 and 1075 runs scored, Kumar Sangakkara averaged 48.86 runs per game. He competed for Sri Lanka in three Asia Cup championship teams in 2004, 2008, and 2014. His final Asia Cup was the 2014 edition.

Sachin Tendulkar: 971 runs

Any list of batting records that does not include Sachin Tendulkar is exceedingly improbable. For an Indian in the Asia Cup, Tendulkar has scored the most runs. The God of Cricket amassed 971 runs at an 85.47 strike rate and an average of 51.10. He was a member of the Indian team that took home the trophy in 1990–1991; 1995; and 2010. He won his final Asia Cup in 2012.

Shoaib Malik: 786 runs

In terms of runs scored during the continental tournament, Shoaib Malik is fourth on the list. The Pakistani all-rounder has 786 runs in just 17 games. Only he represents Pakistan as a player on this list. He bats an astounding 65.50 and has three hundred in the Asia Cup. His 90.65 batting strike rate was also very high. He participated in both of the Pakistani team’s victories in 2000 and 2012 when they won the competition.

Rohit Sharma: 745 runs

Rohit Sharma has 745 runs to his name and is the fifth-highest run scorer in the Asia Cup. His tournament batting average is 46.56, and his strikeout percentage is 85. With the Asia Cup in 2023, the Hitman will have a chance to increase the number of runs on his total. By the end of the competition, he might be able to pass Shoaib Malik in the standings.

Arjuna Ranatunga: 741 runs

Arjuna Ranatunga led a capable Sri Lankan team with bravery. Ranatunga amassed 741 runs during the competition. Both in 1986 as a player and in 1997 as captain, he was a member of the team that won the Asia Cup. He had the most runs scored in both events and took home the Player of the Series award.

Mushfiqur Rahim: 699 runs

The Bangladeshi player with the most runs is Mushfiqur Rahim. He scored 699 runs in 21 games, and the forthcoming Asia Cup will provide him with the opportunity to increase that total.

Mahela Jayawardene: 674 runs

In 28 games, Mahela Jayawardene has scored 674 runs. His strike rate was 87.64 and his batting average was 29.30.

MS Dhoni: 648 runs

The illustrious Indian captain, who has 648 runs scored, is ranked ninth. MSD has 648 runs scored at a strike rate of 87.68 and an average of 64.80.

Aravinda de Silva: 645 runs

In 24 games, Aravinda de Silva scored 645 runs. He had a 64.80 average and an 87.68 strike rate.
