From 2014 until 2019, he served as the Indian Government’s Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs. The Delhi & Districts Cricket Association manages the venue (DDCA). The facility can accommodate 55,000 spectators at one time.

History

The ground was named Feroz Shah Kotla because it was located close the Feroz Shah Kotla, a castle built by Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq in 1883. Locals used to refer to the ground as “Kotla,” which means “fortress,” back then.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi is generally considered to be a good batting track. It has a history of producing high-scoring matches, especially in the IPL.

The pitch is usually flat, with even bounce and good carry, which makes stroke play easier for batsmen. However, the pitch can also assist spinners as the match progresses, and spinners can get some turn and bounce from the surface.

In recent years, the groundsmen have tried to prepare pitches that have some assistance for bowlers, especially the fast bowlers, in order to create a more balanced contest between bat and ball.

Overall, the pitch at Arun Jaitley Stadium is considered to be a good all-round surface that offers something for both batsmen and bowlers. The team winning the toss usually prefers to bat first and set a challenging total on the board, given the high-scoring nature of the ground.
