The newly inducted domestic cricket coach into the franchise of KKR, Chandrakant Pandit, is recently hailed as the ‘Dronacharya of cricket’ by the official Twitter handle of Kolkata Knight Riders. After the former head coach Brendon McCullum removed from the designation the CEO of KKR Venky Mysore brought in the new domestic face whose coaching style is believed to be unbelievable by the exports of the cricket fraternity.Β
Chandrakant Pandit was the former head coach of Madhya Pradesh State Cricket, helped the side to win their maiden Ranji Trophy title, recently in this year’s championship along with this Pandit is a passionate cricket coach who never played dozens of matches for India but still has a good grab on all aspects of cricket coaching.
The eminent franchise of KKR faced a couple of poor performances in the past IPL editions due to which they had to take this hard decision because it’s not normal in cricket to remove the head coach who built a proper environment in the dressing room of a team. So bringing in a new face and starting all things from zero is a bit difficult and takes a lot of time.Β
Also with this Chandrakant Pandit is considered as the team man of the players who always use to indulge with the cricketers and also love to being around the side all the time, so in the future it will be interesting to see that how a domestic cricket coach manage one of the top IPL franchise where the talent from all around the world hooked on.
The Dronacharya of Indian domestic cricket is here! π

I'll keep my expectations to bare minimum from CK Pandit Sir until this IPL cycle as we had the worst ever mega auction for any team in the history of IPL. I don't see us recovering from that anytime soon. I wish we had Pandit Ji as our HC in the mega auction 2022.

In KKR, he is dealing with a mix of well established accomplished stalwarts ( both national & International) and a relatively inexperienced bunch of youngsters. The coaching style should be a judicious mix of caution & aggression. Hope he does it well & generates good harmony too
