Australia has solidified its lineup for the upcoming white-ball stages of the historic multi-format series against South Africa, maintaining an unchanged 15-player squad that recently returned from a tour in India. Alyssa Healy, a seasoned player, will lead the Australian team in a series comprising three T20Is and three ODIs, culminating in a landmark Test match against the South Africans.
The squad for the Test match is yet to be revealed and will be announced after the conclusion of the first ODI on February 3. Shawn Flegler, CA’s Head of Performance (Women’s Cricket) and National Selector, highlighted the similarity between the upcoming T20 and ODI squads to the one that performed admirably in India. Grace Harris, part of the T20 squad, will make way for Alana King in the ODIs, following the precedent set during the home series against the West Indies in October.
The T20Is are scheduled for January 27, 28, and 30, with the initial two matches at Manuka Oval in Canberra and the final T20 at Blundstone Arena in Hobart. The ODIs will follow in Adelaide and Sydney on February 3, 7, and 10, creating a comprehensive and historic multi-format series for Australia’s women’s cricket team.
