
In a significant development for Australian women’s cricket, Alyssa Healy has been appointed as the captain, leading the team across all three formats. Tahlia McGrath, an accomplished all-rounder, joins as the vice-captain, forming a dynamic leadership duo.
Alyssa Healy steps into the captain’s role after serving in an interim capacity over the past year during Meg Lanning’s absence. Her exceptional leadership qualities and match-winning prowess have earned global acclaim throughout her illustrious 255-game international career. Notably, Healy has captained New South Wales in domestic one-day cricket since 2018 and served as the vice-captain for the Sydney Sixers in the first seven WBBL seasons.
Tahlia McGrath, renowned for leading the Adelaide Strikers to consecutive WBBL titles, brings her valuable experience to the senior playing group. Having captained Australia in a One Day International against Ireland in July, McGrath is a key addition to the team’s leadership.
