The Afghanistan Cricket Board revealed that the Afghanistan National Cricket Team will tour Bangladesh for a one-off test in mid-June, followed by a three-match ODI and two-match T20I series in July.
The one-off test match is set to begin on June 14, followed by three one-day international (ODI) matches on July 5th, 8th, and 11th, and two T20I matches on July 14th and 16th.
The one-off test match will be played in Dhaka’s Shere-Bangla Cricket Stadium, while the ODIs will be played at Chattogram and the T20Is at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The ACB’s CEO, Mr. Naseeb Khan, commented, “We are pleased to have a busy schedule ahead of us, as we will tour Bangladesh after the Sri Lanka tour.” We have our sights set on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and we are working hard to arrange more bilateral games for our National team as the tournament approaches.” He went on to say.
“Bangladesh is a competitive team, and we have played better cricket with them in the past; we are hopeful that our players will do well in the tour this time as well.” He went on to say.
“We are committed to promoting cricket within the country; the domestic Green Afghanistan One Day Cup, which was an incredible cricket event, has just concluded; we are pleased to announce the Bangladesh tour; and we are grateful to our BCB counterparts for some excellent communications in this regard.” He went on to say.
Afghanistan recently travelled Bangladesh in February-March of last year, playing a three-match ICC Cricket World Cup Super League ODI series and a two-match T20I series against the hosts. The ODI series was won by Bangladesh 2-1, while the T20I series was split 1-1.
