T20 World Cup match number 5: Uganda vs. Afghanistan Uganda elected to bowl first after winning the toss; however, this did not work out well for them. Afghanistan’s openers made a fantastic start while they were batting first. By putting up a partnership of 154 runs for the first wicket, they gave Afghanistan a strong start.
Afghanistan’s Batting Sets the Stage
Gurbaz and Zardan, the opening batsmen for Afghanistan, set the first batting order up well. Ibrahim Zadran scored 70 runs in 46 balls, while Gurbaz scored 76 in 45 balls. Together, they scored 154 runs in 14 overs, their first wicket partnership. The Afghanistan squad scored 183 runs because of their early start.

Uganda Collapses Under Afghan Bowling Pressure
Uganda’s batting collapsed against a difficult 184-run target. Their batsmen were unable to cope with the Afghan bowling attack. As the main bowler, Fazalhaq Farooqi took five wickets in his four overs. Uganda was only able to score 58 runs in 16 overs thanks to the contributions of the remaining Afghan bowlers, who all claimed wickets. With 14 runs, Robinson Obuya was the top scorer for the Ugandan team.
