India vs. Pakistan’s high-stakes match is always a major event. There has always been a fierce rivalry between the two sides. India A easily trounced Pakistan A by eight wickets yesterday in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup to win their group. The India A lineup lacked any players with international cricket experience. Numerous players with senior international team experience were present in the Pakistan A team at the same time.
Mohammad Wasim, a right-arm fast bowler, has played two tests, 14 ODIs, and 27 T20Is, whereas Mohammad Haris, captain of the Pakistan A squad, has played five ODIs and nine T20Is. With the Pakistani team, players like Shahnawaz Dahani, Saim Ayub, and Sahibzada Farhan have also competed internationally.
Here are some of India A’s standout players during their victory over Pakistan A:
-
Sai Sudharsan
Since making his IPL debut, 21-year-old Sai Sudharsan has attracted the attention of numerous cricket fans and analysts. He earned yet another feather to his cap yesterday when playing Pakistan A. The young player in the top order scored a brilliant century. 104 runs were achieved by Sudharsan in just 110 balls. He hit three sixes and ten fours throughout his knock. He has also been in excellent form in the IPL, scoring 507 runs at an average of 46.09 and a strike rate of 137.03 in the 13 games he has played for Gujarat Titans so far. Even in the IPL 2023 championship match against Chennai Super Kings, he scored 96 runs.
-
Rajvardhan Hangargekar
Since his U-19 days, Rajvardhan Hangargekar has displayed tremendous talent. With the aid of his 5-wicket haul in the first innings, India A was able to hold Pakistan A to a meagre total of just 205. Harshiy Rana, his bowling partner who struggled to get any wickets, gave him a lot of assistance. Rana’s continuous dot balls assisted in applying tremendous pressure on the batsmen. Saim Ayub, the player who batted first, was dismissed after 11 balls for a duck, followed by Omair Yousuf after four balls for a duck, Qasim Akram, Mohammad Wasim, and Shahnawaz Dahani.
-
Manav Suthar
Manav Suthar was playing only in his third List A game against Pakistan A. Yesterday, he had his best bowling figures, picking up three wickets and only giving up 36 runs. Haseebullah Khan, Kamran Ghulam, and captain Mohammad Haris were all dismissed by the left-arm spinner.
-
Nikin Jose
Nikin Jose struck a half-century and added to a fantastic 99-run partnership with Sudharsan to help the Indian team win after starter Abhishek Sharma was out. Seven fours were featured in Jose’s knock of 53 runs.
