Cricketers Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were penalised 100% of their match fees for violating the Code of Conduct during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on Monday.
During the play at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, the Royal Challengers Bangalore batter and the Lucknow Super Giants Team mentor admitted to a Level 2 infraction under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
Naveen-ul-Haq of the LSG was also penalised 50% of his match fees for violating the Code of Conduct. Naveen-ul-Haq admitted to the Level 1 infraction under IPL Code of Conduct Article 2.21.
Meanwhile, the BCCI fined both Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir for violating the IPL code of conduct. Kohli was fined 1.07 crores, or 100% of the match cost, while Gambhir was fined 25 lakhs. Naveen ul Haq, an Afghan pacer, was fined 50% of his match money.

Meanwhile, RCB made a remarkable comeback in Lucknow after scoring 126/9 in their allotted 20 overs against LSG. However, the bowlers put on a fantastic performance, bowling out LSG for 108. LSG’s hopes were dashed early in the game when KL Rahul was forced to leave the field owing to an injury, but the team redeemed itself by limiting RCB to a low score. However, the wicket was difficult to bat on, and a target of 127 was too much for the LSG without KL Rahul.
