With all of the talk about nepotism, a celebrity’s offspring might feel the weight of the world and, if not managed appropriately, break under it.
In sports, though, talent outlasts a person’s name. Without aptitude, no matter what their ancestry, an individual can only go so far.
Arjun Tendulkar, the son of India batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut on April 16 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after warming the bench for two seasons with Mumbai Indians (MI). The Tendulkars made history by becoming the first father-son IPL team. Then, against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Arjun bowled a terrific stint of one for 18 off 2.5 overs.
Sachin Tendulkar and Arjun Tendulkar are not the first, nor will they be the last, father-son duos to shine in the world of cricket and the IPL. In this article, we look at some of cricket’s most famous father-son pairings, ranging from Sachin and Arjun Tendulkar to Roger and Stuart Binny:

After failing to make a reputation for himself on a larger platform, this father had only one goal in mind: to make his son a star cricketer. Yograj Singh had only played one Test and one ODI for India, but he ensured that Yuvraj Singh would not be a bystander.
Yuvi fulfilled his father’s dream and became India’s most important batsman in the limited over format; his heroics in the T20 and ODI World Cups not only earned him man of the tournament awards, but also helped India win the tournaments.

Roger Binny, one of India’s best all-rounders, had the most wickets in the 1983 World Cup. Stuart Binny, like his father, is an all-rounder and is now playing for Team India. This father-son combo enjoys the unique distinction of being members of a Test winning squad at Lord’s. Both Roger and Stuart hit 19 runs off 9 deliveries in their maiden innings.
Sunil and Rohan Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar is regarded as one of the greatest batters of all time, and he is the first player in cricket history to score 10,000 Test runs. His son Rohan Gavaskar has also played for India, albeit he was a more reserved player who did not establish as big of a name as his father did. This father-son combination has the rare distinction of picking a wicket in their maiden ODI over.
