Former Indian batsman Vinod Kambli has made an emotional appeal to get a standardised cricket job which could improve his financial condition in current times. He is going through a dark financial patch as the retirement pension of 30,000 Rs from BCCI is the only source of regular expenses for him.
Vinod kambli was the middle order batsman and occasional off-spin bowler, he played 17 test matches and 104 one-day international games for Indian cricket. But now he is facing horrifying situations in his life where he has not been taken into consideration for any coaching jobs at any of the state cricket associations.
In his recent interview to popular media stream platform, The Mid-day Vinod Kambli said, “There are rules and regulations which everyone has to follow. If there are any rules that don’t allow you to do certain things, everyone must follow them. I will stop it [drinking] immediately if told to do so…no problem at all! Kambli told Mid-day while adding that he is now a social drinker anyway. Who doesn’t do it,”
“I need assignments, where I can work with youngsters. I know Mumbai have retained Amol [Muzumdar] as their head coach, but if anywhere I am needed. We have played together and we were a great team. That’s what I want them [current Mumbai team] to do…to play as a team. I was seeking help from the MCA [Mumbai Cricket Association].”
Further he mentioned, “I told the MCA many times that if you require me, I am there whether it is at the Wankhede Stadium or at BKC. Mumbai cricket has given me a lot. I owe my life to this game”.
