
Former India opener Gautam Gambhir confirmed his participation in the upcoming second edition of Legends League Cricket on Friday. Gambhir was a member of India’s World Cup-winning teams in 2007 (T20 World Cup) and 2011. (50-over World Cup). Every Indian cricket fan remembers Gambhir’s 97 in the 2011 World Cup final. Gambhir has over 6000 runs in limited-overs cricket, having represented India in 147 ODIs and 37 T20Is. He also led the Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014, a remarkable feat.
“I am pleased to announce that I have agreed to participate in the upcoming Legends League Cricket beginning September 17th. I’m looking forward to getting back on a cricket field. It will be a privilege and an honour to once again rub shoulders with the glitterati of world cricket “said Gambhir in an official statement.

On September 16, a special match between India Maharajas and World Giants will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and the second edition of the Legends League will begin on September 17. Sourav Ganguly will captain the India Maharajas, while former England captain Eoin Morgan will captain the World Giants.
This match will feature participants from ten different countries. The league will begin the following day, September 17, 2022, with four teams competing in the Legends League Cricket Franchise format. This season will feature 15 matches in total.
