IPL 2023: Suyash Sharma’s ‘Main Hoon Na’ Celebration In Front Of Kolkata Knight Riders Owner Shah Rukh Khan Goes Viral

Suyash Sharma, a KKR ‘Impact Player,’ took three wickets in his IPL debut against RCB at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Suyash Sharma, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) ‘Impact Player,’ had an immediate effect on his IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), claiming 3/30 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday night. Suyash not only proved to be the ace-in-the-hole for KKR captain Nitish Rana, but also impressed KKR owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

After more than 1,400 days, SRK attended an IPL match at Eden Gardens and was treated to an 81-run triumph by his team as well as an unique ‘Main Hoon Na’ celebration by the young Suyash Sharma. After dismissing RCB’s Anuj Rawat for 1, the young Delhi and KKR leg-spinner pulled out this celebration.

Suyash took up the wickets of Dinesh Karthik and Karn Sharma in addition to Rawat to finish off a great start for the Knight Riders. Varun Chakravarthy of KKR finished with 4/15 and Sunil Narine of RCB grabbed 2/16 as RCB were bowled out for 123 pursuing 205 to win.

“Suyash bowled exceptionally well, and we know the quality Sunil and Varun have. They have fun, take wickets. This was a perfect day,” KKR all-rounder and ‘Player of the Match’ Suyash Sharma said about the young leg-spinner.

KKR skipper Nitish Rana was also impressed by Suyash’s impressive performance on IPL debut. “Suyash, playing his first match, bowled brilliant balls to such batters. Not even we have got to know him so far! He backs himself. It was always our plan to add him if we needed a third spinner,” Rana said.

Suyash, 19, is from Delhi and has yet to play a first-class match. He was purchased by KKR in the IPL 2023 mini-auction for Rs 20 lakh and is already proving to be a bargain for the Kolkata-based team. Suyash has not yet played domestic cricket, however he has represented his home state of Delhi in U-25 events. Suyash was noticed by KKR’s scouting staff, and the franchise’s CEO Venky Mysore was pleased that the team purchased him at auction.
