IPL 2023: KKR Owner Shah Rukh Khan Hugs Virat Kohli, Teaches Him Hook Step To ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ After KKR Vs RCB Match

Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, met batting maestro Virat Kohli after his team’s IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday night at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Shah Rukh made time out of his hectic schedule to accompany his daughter Suhana Khan to his team’s first match at Eden Gardens in three years.

Following his team’s 81-run victory, SRK stepped down in the centre and hugged every player on both sides of the pitch. He also met Kohli and hugged him tightly before asking him to teach him the “Jhoome Jo Pathaan” dance move. SRK didn’t spare any time in teaching Kohli the renowned step.

Kohli teed off in style, smashing a boundary off the opening ball of the session against Umesh Yadav, fresh off his 82-run knock against Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Kohli was removed for 21 in the huge 205-run chase against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Sunil Narine, the veteran, got the best of him with a brilliant delivery to strike the timber. Shardul Thakur’s searing 68-run performance and the spin combination of Varun Chakaravarthy, Suyash Sharma, and Narine helped KKR earn their first win of the season.

Shardul (68 off 29 balls) and opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (57 off 44 balls) both hit half-centuries, while Rinku Singh hit a 33-ball 46 as KKR rallied from 89 for five to 204 for seven. Shardul and Rinku put up a spectacular 103-run partnership, reviving KKR’s innings and putting them in a commanding position. Coming in at No. 7, Thakur smashed the season’s joint-fastest fifty off 20 balls.

While KKR demolished RCB for 123 in 17.4 overs, leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy (4/15) and youthful Suyash Sharma (3/30) caused the most damage.
