IPL 2023: Star Sports Experts Predict Top Two Teams After First Round of League Stage

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who won their initial games easily and ticked off all the boxes with their all-round performance, appear like a squad to beat, and analysts have supported these two teams to make it to the playoffs stage in their early predictions.

Former Australia all-rounder David Hussey told Star Sports that “RR and LSG are looking to finish as the top two teams at the end of the league stage.”

Legendary South African cricketer Jacques Kallis, who has previously coached KKR in the IPL, said Star Sports, “I think RR and DC have it in them to finish as the top two teams in IPL 2023.”

Daren Ganga, a former West Indies cricketer, has chosen RCB and GT as the top two teams. In an interview with Star Sports, the former West Indies captain stated, “RCB and GT will finish as the top two teams this season.”

Former Australia cricketer Tom Moody believes RR and LSG will finish first and second in the league. Aaron Finch, Australia’s T20 World Cup-winning captain, believes the past IPL season’s finalists will once again rule the league stage.

In an interview with Star Sports, Finch stated, “I believe the Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals will finish as the top two teams. They appear to be extremely powerful teams once again.”

Former India bowler S Sreesanth believes LSG and RCB have what it takes to finish first and second in the team standings. “LSG and RCB are the two teams I am going to back to conclude the league stage as top two,” the right-arm fast, who has been a member of India’s World Cup-winning sides, told Star Sports.

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Deep Dasgupta said Star Sports, “RCB and GT, these two clubs may finish as the top two teams in IPL.”

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feels RR and RCB would finish first and second in the league.

“Sanju Samson’s Royals and Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers look like a great side. They can finish as the top two teams,” Manjrekar told Star Sports.
