Sanju Samson To Nitish Rana: List Of All 10 Captains For IPL 2023

In all, ten teams will compete in a home-and-away double round-robin format, with four teams advancing to the playoffs – Eliminator, two Qualifiers, and the Final.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season is due to begin in less than a week, on March 31, 2023, with the final on May 21, 2023. The tournament will begin with a match between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. In all, ten teams will compete in a home-and-away double round-robin format, with four teams advancing to the playoffs – Eliminator, two Qualifiers, and the Final.

Here is the complete list of all 10 IPL captains for 2023:

Chennai Super Kings (MS Dhoni): MS Dhoni, the former India captain, will head his regular franchise Chennai. This will most likely be his final IPL season. The squad is hoping to win the trophy for the fifth time.

Mumbai Indians (Rohit Sharma): MI, one of the most successful IPL franchises led by Indian captain Rohit Sharma, will be without star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has been out with a back injury since September 2022.

Delhi Capitals (David Warner): In the absence of regular leader Rishabh Pant, David Warner will command Delhi for the duration of the season. Pant’s departure will be felt throughout the franchise.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (Faf du Plessis): Last year former Indian captain Virat Kohli stepped down FROM RCB’s captaincy and in his place South African player Faf du Plessis took the lead. Bangalore franchise acquired the services of Faf for Rs 7.00 Cr in IPL 2023 auction.

Kolkata Knight Riders (Nitish Rana): Former Indian captain Virat Kohli stood aside from the RCB captaincy last year, and South African star Faf du Plessis took his position. In the IPL 2023 auction, the Bangalore franchise paid Rs 7.00 crore for Faf’s services.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (Aiden Markram): Hyderabad has built a reputation in the IPL over the years. South Africa captain Aiden Markram replaces Kane Williamson, who led the squad last year. Sunrisers purchased Markram in the 2022 player auction for Rs. 2.60 crore. Markram scored 527 runs at an average of 40.54 in 20 IPL matches.

Punjab Kings (Shikhar Dhawan): Dhawan was acquired in the 2022 auction and led the Kings in scoring previous season with 460 runs in 14 innings. Punjab made the most expensive IPL acquisition, bringing in Sam Curran at 18.5 crores.

Gujarat Titans (Hardik Pandya): The defending IPL winners Gujarat Titans (GT), captained by Hardik Pandya, stunned everyone in their inaugural season last year. On March 31, Gujarat will play the first match of the IPL 2023 competition against Chennai Super Kings.

Lucknow Super Giants (KL Rahul): KL Rahul will captain the new IPL franchise Lucknow. In their first season in the Indian Premier League, the franchise finished third.

Rajasthan Royals (Sanju Samson):  Rajasthan Royals who played the final against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 will also look to win the title. The franchise will be lead by regular captain Sanju Samson.
