After a dominant WPL season, Mumbai Indians finally received what was rightfully theirs: the maiden WPL title. The game against the Delhi Capitals came down to the wire, but MI triumphed by seven wickets in the end.
Mumbai Indians suffered a blow while chasing a target of 131, with both openers falling inside the Powerplay. When the run rate increased and approached 8, Kaur and Nat Sciver launched a counter-attack. At the mid-inning phase, the pair stabilised the ship before loosening their grip a little. Nat Sciver and Amelia Kerr won the nail-biter in the last over with three balls to spare, with the latter taking the aggressor’s position.
