ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 expected to begin on October 5

India will host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 for the first time in its entirety. According to rumours, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 would begin on October 5 and culminate on November 19, with the final planned to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket arena.

According to ESPNCricinfo, the BCCI has also nominated at least a dozen sites for the flagship cricketing event, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai. The tournament will feature 48 matches spread out over 46 days.

However, the BCCI has not yet announced any match locations or towns that would hold warm-up matches. This is owing to the challenges that arise as the monsoon season recedes at various times in different sections of the country. Normally, the ICC announces World Cup plans at least a year in advance, but the BCCI is also awaiting crucial permits from the Indian government.

They include tax breaks and visa approval for the Pakistan squad, which has not played a bilateral series against India since 2013.

Since then, both teams have only competed in ICC competitions. At the ICC’s quarterly meetings last weekend in Dubai, the BCCI was said to have guaranteed the sport’s global governing body that Pakistani teams’ visas would be approved by the Indian government.

On the tax exemption issue, BCCI is scheduled to offer an update to ICC on the government’s actual position on the topic.
