“It is a beautiful format”: Shikhar Dhawan halted the discussions over the nature of ODI cricket

The premier Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has closed the debates and discussion over the nature of odi format which is nowadays coming under the zone of versatile controversies. Many experts from the cricket fraternity have called the one day format as the boring cricket aspect and some of them also advised ICC to at least reduce 10-overs (make ot 40-over game) instead of completely banning it. 

   In the fast and furious era of T20I cricket the beauty of one day international format is slowly and steadily getting pale, due to which Shikhar Dhawan has pointed out his opinion and countered all the hostile voices against the format.

   In the pre match conference before the first ODI against Zimbabwe, a reporter asked Shikhar Dhawan regarding the template of one day international cricket, he answered it by saying, “It is a beautiful format. It is a balanced format where you should know when to attack, and when to defend. It is not a rushed format, it is about understanding when to attack, and when to defend, for both batters and bowlers. I really enjoy playing this format”.

   Further shikhar dhawan talked about the comeback of skipper KL Rahul, he mentioned, “It is very good news that KL Rahul is back and will be leading the side. He is one of the main players of the team. The Asia Cup is coming, so it is good for him and I hope he will gain a lot from this tour. It is sad that Washington Sundar has been ruled out of this tour. It is part and parcel, injuries happen, hope he recovers soon”.
