India vs Australia, 3rd test day 2: Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill Wary As Australia Target Early Wickets

As Australia waits for the initial breakthrough, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have taken a cautious approach. Umesh Yadav took three wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin took two as the hosts bowled out Australia for 197 on Day 2. Ravindra Jadeja, who had taken all four Australian wickets on the first day, came short of his five-for. The visitors grabbed an 88-run advantage in the first inning. On Wednesday, Matthew Kuhnemann had completed his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket as Australia swept out India for 109 runs.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have fought hard in the four overs bowled so far in the innings. They have added 13 runs for the opening wicket. India is 75 runs behind Australia.

Lyon, the final man, goes for a sweep only to have his stumps dislodged by Ashwin. Australia were bowled out for 197 after losing six wickets for 11 runs. Ashwin and Umesh picked three each today to breathe life into this contest. Handscomb and Green were determined to bat India out of this game in the morning, but they had no idea that another precipitous collapse awaited the visitors. But India still has a difficult task because it must first erase an 88-run deficit.
