WI vs SA, 1st Test: Fantasy Cricket Tips, Preview, predicted XIs, match prediction, live streaming, weather forecast and pitch report

The first Test between South Africa (SA) and West Indies (WI) will take place on Tuesday, February 28 at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

On Thursday, June 10th, the West Indies will face South Africa in the first of a two-match Test series at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia.

South Africa’s most recent Test match was a 0-2 defeat in Pakistan earlier this year. Since then, Faf du Plessis has declared his retirement from Test cricket, and Quinton de Kock has stepped down as captain.

In this two-match series, South Africa will be led by Dean Elgar against the West Indies. The visitors have some promising new players on their roster for this tour, which includes two Tests and five Twenty20 Internationals.

Elgar singled highlighted batsman Keegan Petersen as one to keep an eye on during this tour. Petersen is expected to make his Test debut in the first Test, replacing Du Plessis. Both experienced opener Sarel Erwee and the dynamic Kyle Verreynne could make their Test debuts.

Meanwhile, the West Indies were last seen in action in March, when they played a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Despite some promising individual efforts by Kraigg Brathwaite’s team, both games ended in draws. After missing the Sri Lanka series, Shai Hope and Roston Chase will return to the Test squad.

John Campbell is one of the significant absentees from the West Indies squad, with his absence freeing up the opener position alongside skipper Brathwaite. Meanwhile, Jayden Seales, a promising pacer, has been called up to the squad.

A Test match between the West Indies and South Africa, both of which are rebuilding their Test teams, should be an exciting affair. So expect some high-quality Caribbean cricket action in the coming week or so.
