Pakistan Super League: Quetta Gladiators Team Profile, Overview, Achievements and Squad

Quetta Gladiators are a professional Twenty-20 cricket team based in Quetta, Pakistan. They play in Pakistan’s top Twenty20 league, the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Quetta Gladiator team has seen many outstanding players come and go over the years, with some going on to become household names throughout the world. They joined the PSL in its inaugural season in 2015, making them one of the league’s longest-tenured clubs. Sarfraz Ahmed is the current captain and team owner Nadeem Omar.

The Gladiators, which were created by a group of local businessmen, quickly rose to fame as one of the region’s most popular teams due to its vibrant, exciting cricket brand and ability to bring large crowds to their home stadium. The Quetta Gladiators have advanced to the Pakistan Super League postseason three times, with the 2019 season being their best performance. The Pakistan Super League has six clubs, and this one represents the city of Quetta in the Balochistan province (PSL). The PSL title is simply one of many remarkable achievements for the Quetta Gladiators.

The Quetta Gladiators play in the Pakistan Super League, which has quickly grown to become one of the most popular Twenty20 events in all of cricket. They were able to clinch the league championship after defeating Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL championship game in 2019. Quetta won the league and finished second in the first two seasons of the league, in 2016 and 2017. Islamabad United defeated them in 2016, and Peshawar Zalmi defeated them the following year.

Quetta Gladiators Sponsors:

Owner Nadeem Omer held two ceremonies in January 2016 to announce the team’s logo, uniforms, and name. The symbol features a helmet similar to those used by Roman gladiators. The helmet has a purple and gold bat symbol that represents a pair of swords. “Kai Kai Quetta,” their catchphrase, essentially means “we are coming.” Edenrobe and ACM Gold were the team’s title sponsor and official partner for the 2016 season, respectively. For the upcoming second season, Jubilee Insurance has taken over as Quetta’s principal title sponsor. In addition to Chocka and the KHL, Master Oil joined the squad as a formal partner and associate sponsor.

Tapmad was the team’s official streaming partner, while PTV Sports and Suno FM 89.4 were the team’s media partners.

Quetta Gladiators Achievements:

• The Quetta Gladiators have been one of the league’s most consistent teams. It has made it through all three seasons. They also finished second in their respective seasons in 2016 and 2017.
• They are one of just three PSL clubs to reach a PSL final, along with Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. Each team competed in two championship games. The squad also received the ‘Spirit of Cricket Award’ and a monetary prize of US$ 20,000 during the 2017 season.
• This is a substantial sum, Chasee. Against the Lahore Qalandars, the Quetta Gladiators have three of their four best totals and chases. The 2022 season was the most successful at Karachi Ground. They scored 207/3, which was their highest PSL result.
• Gladiators’ Englishman Luke Wright struck 86 runs off 53 balls against Islamabad United, one of the team’s most outstanding performances. Grant Elliot, the team’s all-rounder, has also lit up the league with 15 wickets in just eight games.
