The IPL is the most well-known cricket league in the world. In terms of average attendance, it was ranked sixth among all sports leagues in 2014. In 2010, the IPL became the world’s first sporting event to be live streamed on YouTube. The IPL’s brand equity will be 90,038 crore (US$11 billion) in 2022. In accordance with the BCCI, the 2015 IPL season contributed 1,150 crore (US$140 million) to India’s GDP. The IPL tournament has had fifteen seasons to date. The Gujarat Titans are the prevailing IPL champions, having won both the 2022 and inaugural seasons.
The Indian Premier League has seen the best in business. The gutsy batters knocked the ball right out of the park and put on a performance. The speediest couple of centuries in the championship happened to come off just 30 balls, and it was just one of many valiant innings played over the IPL’s 13-year history. We’ll look at the top five batters with the highest batting strike rate per inning in this article.
- Chris Morris
The South African all-rounder actually started his Indian premier league career with CSK in 2013 and later went on to play for Delhi Capitals and RCB before being approached by Rajasthan Royals in 2021 for a whopping INR 16.25 crore, attempting to make him the tournament’s most expensive buy. Morris has 94 wickets and 39 fours and 35 sixes in 77 IPL matches. In the first half of the IPL 2021, he managed to score 48 runs at a scoring rate of 154.83 and took 14 wickets, including a four-wicket haul. His capacity to effortlessly clear the fence and bowl yorkers in the the last minutes of a game has made him a highly sought-after player for a long time.
- Shashank Singh
Shashank Singh, a 30-year-old unbounded Indian cricketer, stunned everyone on April 27th with his powerful batting reliability in his first IPL innings. He had the highest strike rate in an Indian Premier League innings by an Indian and the second-highest strike rate in an Indian Premier League innings overall throughout that innings. In the 40th match of the IPL 2022, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced Gujarat Titans (GT) for the second time this year. After the Titans batted first, SRH’s opener Abhishek Sharma (65) and middle-order batter Aiden Markram (56) led the team to a large first-overs total. However, Shashank Singh caught the eye at the very end of that innings.
- Albie Morkel
No authentic Indian premier league fan will underestimate Albie Morkel’s innings against RCB in 2012. While playing for them, he ended up winning a tight match against CSK. Albie hit three sixes and two boundaries in seven balls to score 28 runs. Albie Morkel struck an incredible six against Virat Kohli. Albie’s inning had a strike total of 400.00.
- AB de Villiers
Unless the name AB de Villiers emerges, the IPL batting records will be imperfect. In an IPL innings, ABD has the 5th highest individual strike rate. ABD hit three sixers and three boundaries in 31 runs off just eight balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore. ABD had a batting strike rate of 387.50 in that inning.
- Balachandra Akhil
Balachandra Akhil, with a batting strike rate of 385.71, is possibly the most spectacular name on the list, having played hardly 15 Indian premier league games in his professional life, and this hit against the Deccan Chargers in IPL 2008 was by far his proudest achievement of the tournament. With his team, RCB, in distress in a chase of 166, Akhil decided to step out and absolutely wrecked the bowling from the first ball, scoring 27 runs off 7 balls with two fours and three sixes. Chamara Silva and Chaminda Vaas were treated with contempt and sent to all parts of the ground as Akhil facilitated RCB in hunting down the goal with an over to spare.
