
The Indian men’s cricket team visited the famous Mahakaleswar temple in Ujjain on Monday, ahead of the third ODI on Tuesday. Suryakumar Yadav, the batter, claimed that the players prayed for Rishabh Pant’s health and rapid recovery.
“We prayed for the speedy recovery of Rishabh Pant. His comeback is very important to us,” Yadav was quoted as saying by ANI.
“We have already won the series against New Zealand, looking forward to the final match against them.”
The Indian team is currently in Madhya Pradesh for the third One-Day International (ODI) versus New Zealand at the Holkar Stadium
Having already won the series, the players went to the temple and took part in Lord Shiva’s famed ‘Bhasma Aarti’ in the early hours of Monday morning. Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Yadav, and a handful of the support workers were also seen taking part in the ritual.
What happened to Rishabh Pant?
Pant had an catastrophic car accident last month while driving alone to his birthplace in the Roorkee district of Uttarakhand, a north Indian state.
The 25-year-old is being treated at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and will remain there till he heals completely. According to numerous sources, he will be out of cricket for the next year and a half.
