Shubman Gill has made his place much stronger in the Indian team by hitting a century in the last ODI and giving a double century in the IND vs NZ 1st ODI match. He has become the youngest batter to make a double century. He walked along with Rohit Sharm to open the innings on Wednesday – 18 January 2023. He made a strong mark from the beginning and made a firm mark for himself. As India opted to bat first, the expectations from the crowd and the viewers had already risen. With 349 on the board in 50 overs, India had given a good score for New Zealand to chase.
Gill made 208 runs on 149 balls only. It included 19 fours and 9 sixes.
