Former Ireland all-rounder Kevin O’Brien has announced his retirement from the 50-over format. The 35-year-old Dubliner closes his 153-match ODI career with an astonishing 3,618 runs scored at an average of 29.41 and a strike rate of 88.72 and 114 wickets taken, making him Ireland’s all-time leader in ODI wicket-taking.
Boyd Rankin
Right-arm fast-medium bowler William Boyd Rankin has played in international cricket for both Ireland and England. Rankin played in 75 One-Day Internationals between 2007 and 2020, and he ended the tournament with 106 wickets. It was announced in May of 2021 that he was done with cricket for good.
George Dockrell
While George Dockrell contributes to his squad in multiple ways, his bowling and batting prowess stand out the most. His bowling skills have impressed many. On April 15th, 2010, against the West Indies, he made his debut in an ODI competition. Since then, he has participated in 99 One-Day International matches. He has collected 93 dismissals while allowing runs at a rate of 4.77 per over.
Andy McBrine
Andy McBrine has collected 16 wickets for Ireland in 2021 One-Day Internationals. He bowls with his right arm and employs an off-break delivery. Mcbrine took those 16 wickets for his team at 25.18 runs per wicket. While doing so, he keeps a bowling economy rate of 3.87 and posts a best ODI bowling performance of 5/29 in 2021. In 61 ODIs, Mcbrine has taken 75 wickets at an average of 32.10.
Tim Murtagh
Tim Murtagh bowls for the Irish cricket team. He took five wickets while only allowing 21 runs in his finest ODI effort. He has bowled in 57 ODIs, averaging 4.54 runs per over.
