Bhuvneshwar Kumar, an Indian pace veteran, praised bowler Arshdeep Singh, saying that the best part of his game is his planning.
India will face the West Indies in the second T20I at Basseterre in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
“The best part is that he (Arshdeep) knows exactly what he wants out of his bowling. He knows what kind of field he wants to create and where he needs to bowl from. Bowlers learn as they bowl, which happens very rarely at a young age. But he now has this maturity. He has also been consistent over the last couple of years. The best aspect of his game is the way he thinks and plans about it “Kumar stated this at a press conference prior to the match.
Arshdeep was outstanding in his team’s 68-run victory over West Indies in the first T20I. In four overs, he took two wickets and conceded only 24 runs. This young bowler’s run-a-ball economy has been outstanding.
When asked if he had made any recent changes to his bowling, Kumar stated that he had made no changes and had focused on bowling as much as possible. “My body became more rhythmic as I bowled more. It aids in confidence building. Bowling is easier if you are physically fit. I just bowled more whenever I had the chance and tried to maintain my rhythm “He continued.
The veteran stated that a lot has changed in his 10-year international career and that a total of 300 and 180-190 in ODIs and T20Is are no longer safe.
“The way the opposition approaches their game, whether batter or bowler, has shifted. Batters and bowlers will evolve as the game progresses. The game has advanced significantly “He continued.
Kumar stated that he has added more weapons to his bowling arsenal in the form of knuckleball, slow balls, and slow bouncers, which he employs on a regular basis.
Kumar stated that he would lead the pace attack “You have fun even when you are not leading or performing. When you’re a senior, you try to talk to all the kids and share your ideas about how things can work. We often talk about certain topics. You certainly enjoy it when the bowling unit performs well.”
Notably, India defeated the West Indies by 68 runs in the first T20I. India posted 190/6 in 20 overs thanks to some fantastic batting from Rohit Sharma (64*) and Dinesh Karthik (41*). West Indies were bowled out for 122 by Arshdeep (2/24), spinners Ravi Bishnoi (2/26), and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (2/22). Shamarh Brooks scored 20 runs and finished as his team’s leading scorer.
