Gurnoor Brar Profile: There will be an ODI series involving India and Afghanistan consisting of three matches to be played in India, beginning on June 14. BCCI has selected a team of 15 members from India for this ODI series. This team includes experienced cricketers like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, and Ishan Kishan who returns to the team after a long gap.

Moreover, the selectors have included fast bowler Gurnoor Brar in the ODI team for the very first time. It would be Gurnoor’s debut match for Team India due to excellent performance in domestic cricket.

Who is Gurnoor Brar?

Gurnoor Brar is 25 years old and is a right-arm fast bowler. He is from Punjab, India. In recent years Gurnoor Brar has played consistently well for the Punjabs State Team in all formats of domestic cricket, enabling him to gain the respect of national selectors.

So far, Gurnoor has appeared in 18 First-Class, 9 List A, and 9 T20 games. In First-Class cricket, he has managed to take 52 wickets, whereas in List A cricket, he has taken 12 wickets, and in T20 cricket, he has taken 10 wickets.

Furthermore, Gurnoor Brar has also made an appearance in the IPL by playing just one game for Punjab Kings in 2023. As a result, owing to his brilliant performance, he has bagged his first-ever chance to play for the Indian ODI team.

At present, Gurnoor Brar plays for Gujarat Titans. Even though he has not played any game for GT yet, his brilliant domestic performance has surely earned him a place in the ODI team.

Ravindra Jadeja Given a Rest

The veteran all-rounder of Team India, Ravindra Jadeja, has been rested for the ODI series that is being played against Afghanistan. He has been rested in both forms, since Team India is set to play in Sri Lanka soon, and the performance of Jadeja would prove to be very important for the team during that series.

In the case of Team India, each and every match has proved to be very important in the context of World Test Championship. For qualifying for the final, they have to win every match.
