However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have become the first team to qualify for the playoffs of the current season.
Now that every game is crucial, fans are desperately looking out for IPL 2026 Qualification scenarios where they can see the fate of each team that hopes to make it to the top four.
IPL 2026 Qualification Scenarios
RCB Become the First Team to Qualify
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have qualified themselves for the playoffs of the IPL 2026 as they have shown consistent performances throughout the season. This qualifying of the team has increased the competition among the other teams for the last three places.
Gujarat Titans Qualification Scenario
- Gujarat Titans are presently in the second spot on the points table with 16 points from 13 games, out of which 8 are wins.
- The last league game for them will be against Chennai Super Kings on May 21 at Ahmedabad.
- Winning this game will pretty much assure Gujarat a place in the top two spots.
But losing the game will put them with 16 points, thus leaving them dependent on their NRR and other teams’ performance. In the present IPL 2026 Qualifiers scenarios, Gujarat have not lost hope yet.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Qualification Scenario
Sunrisers Hyderabad occupy the third position in the points table with a total of 14 points in 12 matches.
However, they have two important matches left before the end of the league stage:
Against Chennai Super Kings
Against Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Winning both matches will give Sunrisers Hyderabad 18 points and a chance to end up in the top two positions.
One victory might be sufficient to take them through to the knockouts.
Punjab Kings Qualification Scenario
Punjab Kings have scored 13 points out of 13 games played, with one match abandoned.
Punjab only have one league match left to play:
Even if they win, their chances of making it through would be highly dependent on other results. They would have to ensure that the Chennai Super Kings lose their two remaining matches and that Punjab win theirs.
The following are the IPL 2026 Qualification Scenarios for Punjab.
Rajasthan Royals Qualification Scenario
- Rajasthan Royals Must Win Both Matches
- The Rajasthan Royals at present have 12 points out of 12 games.
The road to the playoffs for them is simple:
They need to win both of their remaining games.
A loss would seriously affect their chances of qualifying.
As they stand at 16 points, they are definitely in the running for the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings Qualification Scenario
Chennai Super Kings have managed 12 points in 12 games and will go into their last couple of matches under pressure.
For CSK to qualify for the playoffs:
They must win their last two games.
In addition, they must also win comfortably enough to boost their NRR.
However, if Sunrisers Hyderabad lose their last two games, the qualification prospects for CSK will be greatly boosted.
Kolkata Knight Riders Qualification Scenario
KKR Need Multiple Results to Go Their Way
KKR currently holds 11 points in 12 games.
Even if KKR wins both its remaining two games, their maximum points will be 15. Consequently, their qualification is not fully in their hands.
For KKR to qualify:
Hyderabad and Chennai should win only one game each.
Punjab Kings should lose their last game.
KKR needs a number of things to happen their way according to the new IPL 2026 Qualification scenarios.
Delhi Capitals Qualification Scenario
The Delhi Capitals seem to be in the most difficult position of all the competitors.
Delhi have 12 points from 13 matches and will depend a lot on other teams’ outcomes.
For Delhi to make it:
- Delhi should win their last match.
- Chennai should win just one of their last matches.
- Hyderabad should lose both their matches.
- Punjab Kings should lose their last match.
- Kolkata Knight Riders should also lose at least one match.
This is how Delhi will be able to stay in the race.
