Chennai Super Kings’ veteran wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni added another milestone to his legendary IPL career by becoming the first player to reach 200 dismissals in the tournament. He achieved the landmark during the previous season, CSK’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants in Match 30 of IPL 2025. MS Dhoni is the only player in the history of IPL to do so. Not even a single player dared to reach near him.

The historic moment came in the 14th over when Ayush Badoni was stumped off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling, marking Dhoni’s 200th dismissal behind the stumps. With this feat, Dhoni further cemented his legacy as one of the finest wicketkeepers in IPL history.

He wasn’t done there. Dhoni showcased his brilliance throughout the match, pulling off three sharp dismissals and proving once again why his glovework remains unmatched even at this stage of his career.
Dhoni achieved this feat in 271 matches
In his 271st IPL match, MS Dhoni crossed the 200-dismissal milestone after taking the catch of Rishabh Pant in the final over, as Lucknow Super Giants finished their innings at 166/7. The experienced CSK wicketkeeper now has 201 dismissals to his name, which include 155 catches and 46 stumpings.
After Dhoni DK and ABD are in the list
Behind him on the all-time list is former wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik with 182 dismissals. Royal Challengers Bengaluru great AB de Villiers holds the third position with 126 dismissals in his IPL career.
