In this regard, the only player ahead of him is the legendary former Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar, who amassed 18,426 runs in ODI cricket. Furthermore, among batsmen with over 10,000 runs in ODIs, Virat Kohli boasts the highest batting average, currently standing at 58.71.
The next player in this list of batsmen is the former captain of Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni; who scored 10,773 runs with a batting average of 50.57 There is a huge difference between him and those who are also here; as everyone else has less than 50 runs per innings.
2. Rohit Sharma: Strike Rate of 92.74
The second best player has been another iconic Indian cricketer, Rohit Sharma. He has played 282 ODIs and batted in 274 of those matches and scored 11,577 runs at a batting average of 48.84 with a strike rate of 92.74.
He has scored 33 centuries and 61 half centuries in ODIs. He has a highest score of 264 in ODIs. He is also the only player to score three double-centuries (200+) in ODIs in the history of cricket.
3. Sanath Jayasuriya: Strike Rate of 91.20
Sanath Jayasuriya, the famous batsman from Sri Lanka, comes next in the list, and he was a player known for his aggressive batting form. In his ODI career, he played 445 games altogether. In those 445 games, playing 433 innings, he accumulated 13,430 runs at an average of 32.36 and strike rate of 91.20.
His best performances in this format include 28 centuries and 68 half-centuries. The maximum individual score that he made in ODIs was 189 runs.Furthermore, among Sri Lankan players, only Kumar Sangakkara scored more runs than him. This is because Sangakkara amassed a total of 14,234 runs during his ODI career.

He has made a total of 10,773 runs at an SR of 87.56. Meanwhile, former Caribbean legend Chris Gayle scored 10,480 runs at a strike rate of 87.19.
Furthermore, India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar also scored 18,426 runs at a strike rate of 86.23. Similarly, Sri Lanka’s explosive former batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan scored 10,290 runs at a strike rate of 86.23.
