Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report

People generally think that the pitch at Arun Jaitley Stadium is one that is good for batting due to the flatter-than-normal wicket.  The ball comes off of the bat well on this ground too.

Historically, the pitch has been considered to be a bowler-friendly pitch therefore scoring could be challenging due to the nature of how much runs have been scored on this ground in the past; however all of that changed with the most recent years where the amount of scoring has increased.

Seasonal dew in the evening matches has a large impact when it comes to playing cricket; this means that it is much smoother to make contact between two objects (the bat & ball) during the second innings than if it had not been dewy from evening matches. Because of this, when teams wins the toss; they usually choose to bat second.

Toss – Win the toss, bowl first.

Slight swing for bowlers with the new ball.

An excellent wicket for batsmen.

Fast outfield, short boundaries.

Dew – A major factor. Average Score: 170.02
