India and New Zealand will play the final of the tenth edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The home team will look to win its third overall and second title on the bounce, while the Blackcaps would hope to outplay the defending champions and win the trophy for the first time in two attempts.

If we talk about the way the two teams have performed so far in the competition, it might be hard to predict who is the favourite to come out on top after the final, as India haven’t been at their best so far in the tournament, but now find themselves one step away from creating history.

The reason for India’s position in the tournament has been that different players have put their hand up on different occasions to get the team out of difficult situations. Having said that, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side would hope that they have saved their best for the last and produce a match-winning performance in the final game against an in-form New Zealand team
The Concerns
For that to happen, they would hope for the openers to get the team off to a goodstart which hasn’t been the case in the eight matches so far, with Abhishek being out of form. The team management, however, might still back the left-hander, with it being the final.
Along with the batting, the captain and the coach would also hope for the bowlers, Varun Chakaravarthy in particular, to have a good outing in order to create pressure on the Kiwi batters in the middle overs.

New Zealand, on the other hand, would hope to do more of thesame in terms of performance that they delivered in the first semifinal against South Africa at Eden Gardens, where they humiliated the Proteas by chasing the target of 170 runs with nine wickets in hand.

The assault on the South African bowlers was led by Finn Allen, who scored the fastest century in the history of the T20 World Cup and was well supported by Tim Seifert, who notched up a fine half-century as well.
