
For preparations before the long-awaited ODI World Cup 2025, the Pakistan Women’s national team will be welcoming South Africa for a three-match ODI series at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, between September 16 and 22.
ODI World Cup 2025 Preparations Kick Off with PAK vs SA Series
The PAK vs SA ODI series will be an important part of Pakistan Women’s preparation for the ODI World Cup 2025, taking place in Sri Lanka. All of Pakistan’s group-stage and possible knockout games will take place in Sri Lanka.
This series is Pakistan Women’s sole planned international activity for the rest of 2025, aside from a three-match T20I series in Dublin early in August.
Serious T20 World Cup 2026 Preparation on Cards
Although the ODI preparation will be short, Pakistan’s preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026 in England will be serious. Here’s what’s in the pipeline:

Women’s Under-19 and Domestic Cricket Calendar
To enhance grassroots growth, the Pakistan U-19 Women’s team will participate in a national T20 tournament in Karachi from September 15 to October 6. Top performers will attend a three-week skills development camp, then a conditioning camp before playing a five-match T20 series in Bangladesh this December.
Domestic Women’s Cricket: New Tournaments and Opportunities
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is making efforts to increase domestic opportunities for senior women cricketers:

Departmental Tournament in Discussion
PCB Head of Women’s Cricket Rafia Haider confirmed active discussions with various departments to introduce a departmental tournament, aimed at providing more playing time and exposure to female cricketers.
Pakistan Women’s Roadmap to ODI World Cup 2025 and Beyond
Pakistan’s Women’s Cricket team has a distinct direction that leads to the ODI World Cup 2025 and the T20 World Cup 2026. As the coming PAK vs SA series is one of the pillars of their World Cup preparation, the PCB is also working on the development at both grassroots and pinnacle levels through international series, domestic league, and performance camps.
